Job description

Civil Project Manager (PE) - Shape Communities, Lead Projects
High Point, NC | Engineering
Must have an active North Carolina PE license to be considered
Build What's Next - With Real Ownership
At FEI, we're not just designing sites-we're helping shape communities across North Carolina. We're looking for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who's ready to step into a true leadership role: guiding land development projects from concept to construction while building strong client relationships along the way.
If you're someone who wants more than just "checking plans"-if you want responsibility, influence, and a seat at the table-this is that role.
What You'll Do
  • Lead land development projects as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager
  • Take responsibility for project outcomes: quality, timelines, budgets, and client satisfaction
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
  • Guide and mentor Assistant Project Managers and technical staff
  • Design and review site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including:
    • Grading, erosion control, and subdivisions
    • Water, sewer, and stormwater systems
    • Stormwater management and final plats
  • Coordinate permitting and approvals with local and state agencies
  • Represent projects in meetings with boards, agencies, and stakeholders

What You Bring
  • Active North Carolina PE license (required)
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 5+ years in land development engineering
  • 2+ years leading projects or managing people
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Clear communicator and confident leader
  • Valid NC driver's license

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Ajera or similar project financial software
  • Background in client-facing consulting
  • Familiarity with land surveying principles

Why FEI?
  • Meaningful project responsibility - You lead projects, not just pieces of them
  • Relationship-driven culture - We value trust, not bureaucracy
  • Leadership impact - Your decisions shape projects and outcomes
  • Predictable schedule -
    Mon-Thu: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
    Fri: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM

A Quick Note
  • This role is not for EITs or unlicensed engineers
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S.
  • FEI does not offer visa sponsorship
  • Direct applicants only-no recruiter submissions

If you're ready to lead meaningful projects and grow your impact, we'd like to meet you.
