About this Role

Sr. Civil Engineer, P.E.

(8+ Years Experience)

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an experienced Sr. Civil Engineer, P.E. to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role supports EPC and engineering design projects for oil & gas, petrochemical, and data center clients.

The Civil Engineer for this position will be responsible for the development of civil and structural design parameters and independently perform engineering analysis, calculations, and code interpretations as it pertains to the design of Energy Facilities.

What You'll Do

Engineering & Design

  • Perform civil site development and structural design activities including site grading, drainage systems, underground utilities, and foundation design.
  • Develop site layouts, roadway access plans, and earthwork balance calculations for industrial and energy facilities.
  • Perform structural analysis and foundation design for equipment, piping supports, and associated infrastructure.
  • Review geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into site and foundation designs.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including DOT PHMSA, ASCE, OSHA, and local AHJ requirements.

Deliverable & Project Support

  • Perform QA/QC reviews of civil and structural drawings and calculations to ensure compliance with company standards and industry requirements.
  • Coordinate civil and structural deliverables with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Review third-party vendor drawings and construction documents for compatibility with project scope.
  • Support field activities, RFI responses, and construction coordination as needed.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of civil and structural design experience supporting energy, pipeline, or industrial facilities
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas and/or Louisiana
  • Experience using civil drafting, plant modeling, and structural analysis software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, CADWorx, and RISA
  • Strong familiarity with applicable federal and industry codes governing structural design, construction safety, and pipeline compliance (e.g., ASCE, OSHA, DOT PHMSA)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
