Job description

Maschmeyer Concrete (Redwing Materials LLC) is seeking a highly motivated Structural / Civil Engineer to support the construction and plant erection activities for a new state-of-the-art slag grinding plant in Gibsonton, Florida. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing structural and civil works during the erection phase and will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent plant engineering role following successful commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee structural and civil construction activities related to plant erection, including foundations, concrete works, steel structures, platforms, access ways, and equipment support structures.
  • Coordinate with civil and structural contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Review structural drawings, civil layouts, foundation plans, reinforcement details, and erection procedures.
  • Inspect structural and civil installations to ensure compliance with engineering standards, design specifications, and project requirements.
  • Support foundation setting, anchor bolt placement, grouting, and alignment of major equipment bases.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure proper interface between civil, structural, and equipment installation activities.
  • Monitor quality control inspections, punch list completion, and structural acceptance testing.
  • Participate in site planning, erection sequencing, and construction progress meetings.
  • Troubleshoot structural or civil issues encountered during construction and erection.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Assist in developing long-term maintenance and inspection plans for structural assets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in industrial manufacturing, cement, mining, aggregates, heavy industrial facilities, or construction projects.
  • Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, and industrial plant erection.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and contractor coordination.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, structural details, and technical specifications.
Preferred Experience
  • Cement plants, slag grinding, mining, bulk material handling, or heavy industrial construction.
  • Plant erection and commissioning experience.
  • OSHA 30 and MSHA training preferred.
