Join the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a Storm Water Management and Erosion Control Engineer today to make an impact on Wisconsin's infrastructure!
The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeing an interested and qualified individual to fill a Storm Water Management and Erosion Control Engineer (Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced) vacancy in the Northeast Region!
This full-time permanent position will be headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD office building in Green Bay, WI at least 2 days per week, additional days for training will be required. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Northeast Region (NER), Technical Services Section (TSS) serving as the Regional Erosion Control and Storm Water Management Program Engineer on multi-modal transportation facilities development, construction, and maintenance.
Under general supervision, this position performs the highest degree of independent discretion and judgment, serving as a resource and advisor to project managers, project leaders, management, consultants, contractors, and municipalities on project-level erosion control and storm water management issues. This position has extensive discretion in decision making and is required as part of the DOT-DNR Cooperative Agreement.
This position provides engineering leadership and guidance to staff, consultants, and municipalities on project-level erosion control and storm water management analysis, applications, and techniques. This position also functions as a regional liaison between Project Development Section (PDS), Bureau of Technical Services (BTS), and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This position requires strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills, along with a willingness to collaborate and ability to work with both internal and external partners.

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $114,483, plus excellent benefits. Plus, an additional $2,080 per year for a Professional Engineer License.
A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior permanent full-time state service in the last five years and agree to remain in the position for one year. The $3,000 will be paid on the first paycheck.
A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. WisDOT is not enrolled in USCIS E-Verify and is not eligible to employ international F-1 students seeking STEM-OPT extension. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
