Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee civil project design phases.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop a civil design schedule to align with target dates for deliverables.
  • Leads project strategy meetings within discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications.
  • Perform site layout and design, grading, Storm water drainage, sanitary sewer design and erosion control design.
  • Conduct flood studies.
  • Develop pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
  • Interface directly with clients and external partners.
  • Maintain Civil Design/ engineering standards and procedures.
  • Comply with Company's Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization's goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
  • This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.


KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience is required.
  • Registered P.E is required.
  • Functional knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
