Job description

Looking for an experienced civil designer, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, preferably 3-5 yrs. experience, public works, pipelines, industrial, water, sewer, storm drain, fire supply, exhibits, earthwork modeling, tract maps, street improvement plans, park sites, etc.

Must be able to communicate and understand/interpret and prepare design markups, sections, detail design, redlines and convert into autocad detailed design plans. Assist is quantity take-offs, cost estimates, make submittals to clients both off-site and electronically. Must be able to conduct research both on-line and at public agencies and utility surveyors to obtain record plans and data and convert into AutoCAD. Must have reliable transportation and ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.

Civil Design Engineer

Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for a highly-skilled and experienced Civil Design Engineer. You will collaborate with our engineering principals to oversee the design and construction of various civil improvement projects. From the planning stages through the construction process, you will perform design components to meet the project goals, deliverables and conditions of approval. Our ideal candidate has at least three to five years of civil design engineering experience and a portfolio of successful design projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze (and compile raw survey data), survey reports, maps, plans, and other relevant information for project planning
  • Submitting permit applications for projects with multiple regulations to appropriate local, state, and federal agencies
  • Budget construction costs for projects
  • Prepare and assist in technical reports, hydrology, WQMP, SWPPP, etc.
  • Design and implement plans and simulations using 2-D or 3-D computer software to plan civil engineering conceptual grading, utilities, ADA path-of-travel, earthwork, cost estimates and related civil infrastructure design for Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Educational and public works (street, sewer, water, and storm drain) projects
  • Project coordination with A&B team and project team (subconsultants), as well as project owners

Civil Design Engineer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associates degree higher degree in related field
  • 3-5 years of professional engineering experience
  • Substantial portfolio of successful design projects
  • Proficient with computer-aided design drafting
  • Experience with design software, hydraulics, hydrology, Flowmaster, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project (a plus)
  • Flexible schedule okay, minimum 40-hrs. per week
