We are looking for an Insurance Defense Attorney to join a growing civil litigation practice in Fresno, California. This position offers the opportunity to manage insurance defense and public entity matters while developing strong courtroom and deposition experience. The ideal candidate is eager to take an active role in litigation, contribute thoughtful case strategy, and deliver high-quality legal work in a collaborative firm environment.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Handle civil defense matters from early case assessment through resolution, with a focus on insurance defense and public entity representation.
โ€ข Research legal issues and prepare well-supported pleadings, motions, and other case filings for state court litigation.
โ€ข Manage written discovery by drafting requests, preparing responses, and evaluating opposing party submissions.
โ€ข Appear at hearings, defend or take depositions, and support broader case preparation efforts for trial or settlement.
โ€ข Analyze facts, evidence, and legal exposure to help shape defense strategy and guide case development.
โ€ข Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and meet expected billable hour targets set by the firm.
