Job description

AFTER SCHOOL ENERGY YOUTH LEADER
(8 Positions Available)

Hours: 9-10 hours per week
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 3:00pm-5:00pm
Wednesday - 12:45pm-3:15pm, 1pm-3:30pm, 1:35-3:55pm depending on school
Program runs September 14, 2026 - May 21, 2027
Salary: $18.75 per hour
Open: July 25, 2026
Closes: Open until filled
Duties: Under the direction of the Youth and Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, Youth Leaders plan, organize and lead daily activities for children grades K-5th. After school programs consist of approximately 20-30 participants and 3 staff members. Activities include group games, sports, and arts and crafts.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants are subject to a Sterling background check. Must have First Aid/CPR certification prior to program start date.
Preferred Qualifications: 1 year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching, or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic and social activities, and other large group activities for children between 6-12 years old; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
