Job description

Job Summary We're hiring a Maintenance Worker to help keep our City's landscaping and grounds in excellent condition. In this active role, you'll perform routine landscape maintenance tasks, renovate and enhance landscape beds, and take part in beautification projects across the city. Join us to make a positive impact on the spaces that serve our community every day.

Essential Job Functions Performs landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming, weeding, applying mulch, fertilizing, watering, and applying pesticide products. Participates in landscape renovation and enhancement projects from start to finish, and maintains these installations afterwards. Installs new trees, shrubs, flowering plants, ornamental grasses, and groundcovers in places such as parks, venues, and city gateway signs.

Provides customer service to the public by providing information as requested and ensuring the security of guests. All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division. Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality for the assigned work hours is essential.

Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be: Education: Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.

Experience: Under and including one year. Licenses: Valid Driver's License required
