Your Opportunity

Stantec's Rochester Transportation group has an immediate need for a transportation focused Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and urban street design. We are looking for a talented, team focused, and creative individual with a positive attitude and strong MicroStation and Inroads/Openroads skills. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project types including complete streets, expressways, and bridge projects locally and throughout New York State and beyond.

You will join an energetic team of engineers and planners who are passionate about Reconnecting Communities with a network of multimodal facilities. Get the chance to work on signature projects like the Inner Loop North and be a part of a team that works on award winning projects, including Inner Loop East Transformation project. We are also residents who take advantage of the many treasures the city has to offer, whether visiting the Strong Museum of Play, attending the International Jazz Festival, or simply taking a walk along the Genesee River. Rochester has been home to Stantec for nearly 70 years (founded in 1955) and during this time we have successfully completed countless local, state, and national projects. This is a hybrid position in our Rochester New York office. Our Rochester office is in the historic High Falls business district with easy access to the greater Rochester area.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Design complete streets, expressways, and multiuse facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists in accordance with AASHTO, NACTO, MUTCD, and NYSDOT specifications.

- Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.

- Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies.

- Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and specialty subconsultants.

- Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.

- Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.

- Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.

- Provide guidance to influence and mentor team members.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your Capabilities and Credentials

- Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.

- Demonstrated proficiency with MicroStation, Inroads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

- Experience working with NYSDOT CAD Standards.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.

- Strong oral and written communication skills in both office and virtual environments.

- Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized.

Education and Experience

- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

- EIT required and the ability to get a NY PE.

- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in complete street and highway design. Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.

**Pay Range:**

- Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas-$90,900.00 - $131,800.00 Annually

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

**Benefits Summary:** Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
