Job description

Wilkes University invites applicants for an EDGE Coordinator/Learning Specialist in the Office of Academic Success (OAS)Overall, OAS includes programs and services related to first year advising, academic support, disability support services, first generation college students, pre-professional heath advising, ACT 101, EDGE Program, and Upward Bound. OAS is dedicated to providing exemplary services to assist all students to achieve academic and intellectual excellence in the liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs, from their initial transition to college through their progress to post-graduate studies and professional careers.
The successful candidate is responsible for assessing student needs and designing individualized plans for student success. The professional in this position will also work with students individually and within small groups to provide instruction in learning enhancement strategies, present workshops, and serve as a resource for the campus community. This will include dedicated time supporting students through the Academic Recovery Program (designed to assist students that are currently on academic probation). This position has a particular emphasis on supporting the EDGE Program; program responsibilities include teaching a career exploration course and coordinating program duties such as monitoring student academic performance, developing academic plans, and coordinating weekly study labs.
A Master's Degree in an associated field (e.g. counseling, education, psychology) is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years counseling and/or teaching experience in an educational environment, preferably at the post-secondary level. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
