Job Overview
This role requires advanced technical ability, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to mentor junior technicians while ensuring maximum equipment uptime and reliability. At Bee Sweet Citrus, safety is paramount, and we expect all team members to uphold the highest safety standards in every task. This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Saturday, with the ability to workday or night shifts as operational needs arise. This position is designated as Safety Sensitive, meaning the employee must maintain full awareness, unimpaired judgment, and the ability to safely perform tasks that directly affect the safety of themselves and others. Because this role involves maintaining heavy machinery and equipment that is essential to safe operations, it is safety-sensitive by nature-meaning any failure to properly perform duties, whether due to error, distraction, or impairment, could directly compromise the safety of the employee, coworkers, and others, potentially resulting in serious injury, loss of life, or significant property damage. Because of these responsibilities, this role is subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with California law and federal regulations governing safety-sensitive positions.
Bee Sweet Citrus provides ALL necessary tools for technicians to perform their job including uniforms and personal protective equipment.
Duties / Responsibilities
The responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, electric motors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems (roll, belt, chain).
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance safely and in compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct scheduled PMs to ensure safe and reliable operation of production equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical systems (1-phase/3-phase motor controls, AC/DC circuits, PLC I/O) are functioning safely at all times.
  • Assist with or complete welding projects on Stainless and Mild Steel (TIG, MIG, Stick).
  • Safely operate drill presses, grinders, band saws, hydraulic presses, and other shop tools.
  • Conduct tests, inspections, and evaluations to ensure equipment performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Install machines, wiring, and programs according to specifications and safety protocols.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and hazard-control practices.
  • Other duties assigned by management
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Must maintain alertness and safe work practices during extended shifts.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify safe and effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of machine design, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with lubricants and calibrate equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of basic metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge of basic welding skills for Stainless and Mild Steel; TIG, MIG and Stick welding.
Physical Requirement
  • Must be able to quickly move your hands, arms, or grasp to manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Must have ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Must be able to think rationally and apply logic during high stress situations.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to climb, lift, bend, and stoop regularly.
  • Must be able to move or lift 20 lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to remain alert and safety-focused at all times.
Experience
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience in high-speed packaging or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
