Job description

Rockdale County Fire Rescue (RCFR) is always open to connecting with qualified candidates who have prior fire service experience. We are always willing to speak with individuals interested in Firefighter, Firefighter/Driver, and Sergeant Ranks.


Positions Available:

  • Firefighter: Engage in fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations.
  • Firefighter/Driver: Conducts duties of other firefighters but may be required to drive fire apparatus at times.
  • Sergeant: Has the primary responsibility of driving a fire apparatus, but must also be able to provide supervision, training, and ensure adherence to departmental protocols.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior fire service experience is essential, with specific qualifications varying by position.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Firefighter II, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Incident Command System (ICS) courses are required.
  • Leadership Roles: For the Sergeant position, demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience are crucial.
