Job description

The Account Specialist in Wholesale Lending Operations will be responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle including but not limited to monthly advance servicing, project funding, workflow management, and quality control. The team member will be accountable and
responsible for operational oversight of servicing transactions of the business division being supported to ensure all internal and external
requirements are met.
Citi Community Capital (CCC) provides a suite of financial products to help affordable housing developers construct, rehabilitate, refinance,
and acquire affordable multifamily housing across the country. Committed to the communities we serve, CCC finances both straightforward and highly structured transactions for non-profit and for-profit affordable housing developers, Community Development Financial Institutions, and state and local government agencies.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and service an active portfolio of multifamily rental construction transactions (e.g., loans, bonds, and letters of credit).
  • Strong understanding of deal structure, economic terms of transactions, and manage high-volume workflow.
  • Work closely with clients, governmental agencies, fiscal agents, and other external parties on monthly deal disbursement and approval process.
  • Coordinate various actions internally with Asset Managers, Construction Management, Risk, and Operations.
    Review disbursement requests, inspection reports, title updates and managing flow of funds mechanics to meet specific funding deadlines
  • Review deal summaries, legal documents, and construction budget to ensure the risk profile and deal structure are accurate and consistent across all systems and tracking tools.
  • Monitor ongoing updates to the portfolio, including participating in extensions, modifications, and other deal events.
  • Handle data requests from internal teams as well as from regulators, clients, and other third parties.
  • Assist with the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls, training, and implementation of transaction
    management.
  • Aid in the design and implementation of technology including testing and rollout.
  • Ensure that quality of data, controls and processes performed meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations.
  • Participate in projects to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience servicing affordable multifamily loans, knowledge of commercial real estate legal documentation and construction budget are a plus.
    • Individual must possess excellent communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Energetic individual who shows initiatives, a team player, a quick learner with ability to work with minimal direct supervision. Ease with learning new systems/applications required has quantitative skills with a high proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft based programs.
    • Individual must work well under tight deadlines, manage high-volume pipeline, able to prioritize, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow up.
    • Tableau or visualization tool familiarity
    • Experience with Loan IQ, Built, transaction capture tools, etc.
    • Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Internal and external client relationship and solution skills
    • Bachelor's/University degree a plus or equivalent experience
