The Senior Systems and Infrastructure Engineer, Information Security, will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements and security standards. This role involves developing modular system architectures, automating workflows, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness. The position requires expertise in risk analysis, configuration management, and capacity planning to optimize IT resources and maintain system integrity. The engineer will collaborate across teams to address security controls, compliance, and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and supporting the organization’s technology roadmap with a focus on reliability and security.
About the team:
The Security Identity Governance & Administration (SIGA) team delivers enterprise identity governance by designing, implementing, and managing identity lifecycle, access management, and entitlement controls across Walmart’s platforms. The team transforms business and compliance requirements into scalable, automated solutions that ensure appropriate access is granted efficiently. Focused on infrastructure security, automation, and disaster recovery, the team supports secure and resilient systems. Members collaborate to develop technology roadmaps and apply security controls, ensuring alignment with business needs while maintaining robust information systems security and operational excellence.
What you'll do:
  • Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system security plans, conduct risk and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Automate infrastructure tasks using scripting and configuration management tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform routine infrastructure maintenance, including backups, patch management, and performance monitoring.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues, providing feasible solutions to maintain system integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate on capacity planning to optimize resource utilization and support future growth.
  • Translate high-level designs into detailed module specifications for secure and resilient systems.
