Are Python still in demand in 2026?

Python remains highly in demand for roles like Cisco Python developers, as it is widely used for network automation, scripting, and cybersecurity tasks. The language's versatility and strong community support ensure its continued relevance in the tech industry through 2026 and beyond.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Cisco Python position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Cisco Python role, you should possess strong programming skills in Python, a deep understanding of Cisco networking devices and protocols, and preferably a computer science or related technical degree. Familiarity with Cisco's APIs, network automation frameworks like Netmiko or Ansible, and certifications such as Cisco CCNA or DevNet Associate are highly advantageous. Effective problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication skills will help you stand out in cross-functional technical environments. These capabilities are essential for implementing robust network automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reliability.

Which Python job is in demand?

Python development roles such as software engineer, data scientist, and automation engineer are highly in demand across various industries. Skills in frameworks like Django or Flask, along with knowledge of data analysis and machine learning, increase employability. Certifications and experience with cloud platforms can also enhance job prospects.

How hard is it to get a job at Cisco?

Getting a Python-related job at Cisco typically requires relevant programming skills, experience with network automation, and familiarity with Cisco technologies. Candidates often need a strong understanding of Python, networking concepts, and may benefit from certifications like CCNA or CCNP. The hiring process can be competitive and may involve technical interviews and assessments.

Will AI replace Python coders?

AI is unlikely to fully replace Python coders, especially in roles like Cisco Python developers, as human expertise is needed for designing, debugging, and maintaining complex systems. AI tools can assist with coding tasks and automation, but skilled programmers are essential for problem-solving and adapting to new challenges. Continuous learning and understanding of networking, scripting, and automation tools remain important for these roles.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone working in a Cisco Python role?

In a Cisco Python position, your daily responsibilities typically include writing and maintaining Python scripts to automate network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting tasks across Cisco devices. You will often collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to gather requirements, deploy automation tools, and support ongoing network maintenance. Routine tasks may also involve integrating Cisco APIs, documenting your code, and responding to issues or service requests as they arise. This role balances hands-on scripting with active participation in team meetings and technical planning sessions to ensure network reliability and efficiency.
