Network Engineer, Lead
The Opportunity:
A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable global organizations and users to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and sof tware requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need a network engineer like you who knows how to craft the exact network that the Navy needs.
As a Network Engineer on our team, you'll work with the Program Management Office to provide network architecture design and system operational support to other systems, establish requirements, develop and evaluate technical solutions and architecture designs, and perform solutions analyses. You will analyze the design of an enterprise migration and implementation plan for data center s, remote access connections, cross-domain solutions, network ports, protocols, and services configurations while meeting current network requirements. Additionally, you will provide Tier III network support while maintaining responsibility for analyzing and develop ing solutions for networking issues by monitoring all operational communications systems and circuits, directing troubleshooting, and restoring all actions for unscheduled outages. You will analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues and inefficiencies, and develop and implement automated configuration management sof tware solutions, including automated configuration management, sof tware defined wide area networking, and White Box networking solutions for a reliable network to support global critical missions. You'll collaborate with SMEs in cybersecurity, engineering, quality assurance, and operations to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components.
From resolving interoperability issues across platforms to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and sof tware talents to good use. You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with the configuration of network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Experience delivering network engineering artifacts such as network templates, configuration guides, and network diagrams
  • Knowledge of L2-L4 networking protocols
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Certification such as Cisco Certified Network Asso cia te ( CCNA ) or Cisco Certified Network Professional ( CCNP ) Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Navy Enterprise Networks such as NMCI, NGEN, ONE-Net, or CANES
  • Experience with sof tware-defined networking
  • Experience with network automation
  • Experience with networking tools, including SolarWinds
  • Experience with Network Access Control solutions such as Forescout or Cisco ISE

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
