The Catalyst Migration Engineer will support customer network infrastructure modernization projects, with a primary focus on migrating Cisco Catalyst 3650 switches to Cisco Catalyst 9350 platforms. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer with experience in enterprise campus networking, network design documentation, implementation activities, migration planning, advanced troubleshooting, and customer-facing project delivery.

The Catalyst Migration Engineer will support customer network infrastructure modernization projects, with a primary focus on migrating Cisco Catalyst 3650 switches to Cisco Catalyst 9350 platforms. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer with experience in enterprise campus networking, network design documentation, implementation activities, migration planning, advanced troubleshooting, and customer-facing project delivery.

• Assist customers with planning, designing, and implementing Cisco products, services, and solutions.
• Conduct discovery and assessment activities to understand current-state network architectures, configurations, dependencies, and business requirements.
• Support Catalyst 3650 to Catalyst 9350 migration projects, including design validation, configuration development, deployment, cutover execution, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents that define migration strategies, network architecture, VLAN structures, IP addressing schemes, routing design, redundancy requirements, and operational considerations.
• Create detailed migration runbooks, implementation plans, cutover procedures, rollback plans, testing procedures, and validation checklists.
• Produce current-state and future-state network diagrams and maintain accurate network documentation throughout project execution.
• Participate in change management planning and support customer CAB processes by developing technical implementation and rollback documentation.
• Assist with network readiness assessments and identify risks, dependencies, and remediation activities prior to migration activities.

• Support cutover execution and rollback activities when required to minimize customer impact.
• Document issues encountered during migration events, root cause findings, remediation actions, and final migration outcomes.

• Work directly with customers to plan, design, configure, and diagnose Cisco networking solutions that accelerate business outcomes.
• Align technical deliverables with customer business objectives and project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with customer stakeholders, project managers, onsite technicians, and technical teams throughout project execution.
• Provide technical guidance to field resources during equipment installation, migration, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with Cisco account teams, partner organizations, and customer operations teams to support successful deployment and adoption of Cisco technologies.
• Execute project tasks while maintaining quality standards, technical accuracy, and schedule commitments.
• Utilize Jira to track project activities, risks, issues, action items, and daily status updates.

• Support multiple concurrent customer engagements within enterprise campus networking environments.

• Exercise judgment within established procedures, design standards, and best practices to determine appropriate technical actions.
• Work on moderately complex networking problems requiring analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and resolution.
• Identify implementation risks and recommend technical solutions to ensure successful migration outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1 to 3 years of networking experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Experience deploying, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst switching environments.
• Experience creating and maintaining network design documentation, implementation plans, migration runbooks, and technical diagrams.
• Hands-on experience supporting Catalyst 3650 to Catalyst 9350 migration projects.
• Experience performing switch refreshes, stack migrations, hardware replacements, and campus network modernization initiatives.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN.
• Experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA).
• Experience with Fabric-Enabled Wireless and Fabric-in-a-Box architectures.
• Strong understanding of enterprise LAN switching, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, routing protocols, network segmentation, and migration methodologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex switching, routing, and campus networking issues in production environments.
• Familiarity with Cisco implementation methodologies, change management processes, and post-deployment validation procedures.
• Experience working in customer-facing consulting, professional services, or implementation-focused environments.
• Cisco CCNA certification preferred; CCNP Enterprise certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
