Position Information
Position Title Cisco CCNA Instructor - PT Pool Campus Cranford, Elizabeth & Plainfield Department Continuing Education Full-time, Part-time, Adjunct Part Time Exempt or Non-Exempt Regular,Temporary, or Grant Regular General Description
The Continuing Education Department is seeking a part-time technology instructor to teach the newly revised, three-module Cisco CCNA curriculum. The incumbent/s will be responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives. This individual must have a strong knowledge of the CISCO CCNA course material, handling of equipment, and be approved as a CISCO Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI). This course is designed to teach CISCO CCNA to prepare entry - mid level participants to gain the competencies needed to be successful in the field and prepare them to pass the new CCNA Exam.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
Provide quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory.ย 
Teaches material from approved curriculum.ย 
Maintain daily attendance.ย 
Monitor students' performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives.ย 
Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.ย 
Assist with course/program evaluation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in the Information Technology or required fieldย 
Master's Degree preferred.ย 
Must be approved as a CISCO Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI).
Experience
5+ years' in the field with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining operating systemsย 
2+ years' experience developing technology curriculumsย 
5+ years of instructional experience in teaching and similar field
Competencies and Skills Required
Excellent communications skills and hands-on experience and expertise.ย 
Curiosityย

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.ย 
Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.ย 
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.ย 
Some travel required.

Terms of Employment
Continuing Education courses will be held at campus locations in Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield. Must be available evenings. Weekend opportunities may occur.
