Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 5 years of experience, prior travel experience, and a SC or compact RN license.

Details
  • Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • Cerner EMR used, experience required
  • Facility performs 100-200 births per month
  • Unit includes Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby care
  • Floating limited to within the hospital, not to affiliate facilities
Requirements
  • Active RN license (SC or compact) required
  • Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred; AWHONN Beginner/Intermediate also accepted
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
  • Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and forceps/vacuum extraction
  • Experience managing high-risk medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Antihypertensives
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Skilled in postpartum care including hemorrhage management and cesarean recovery
  • Must have not previously worked at this facility within the last year
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Support high-risk obstetric patients including those with pregnancy-induced hypertension and postpartum hemorrhage
  • Assist with pain management including epidural and nitrous oxide administration
  • Perform newborn assessments and neonatal care in the delivery room
  • Support breastfeeding and lactation per baby-friendly protocols
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • RTO must be submitted accurately along with shift preferences
