Job description

Who We Are

Motor City Wash Works is a leader in the manufacture of Car Wash Systems with an established history of growth. The work environment is fast paced, professional and respectful. We are located in Wixom, Michigan. Job Description

Build pallets, skids, crates, and perform other rough carpentry tasks. Pick, pack, and prepare large outgoing orders for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Building pallets, skids and crates to hold large equipment order shipments.
  • Loading and securing heavy equipment onto skids with forklift and / or powered hoist.
  • Loading and securing other items onto pallets and skids.
  • Securing with straps, bolts, screws etc.
  • Packaging of outbound inventory, verifying quantities agree with provided paperwork (Work Order, Shipper, or spreadsheet). Visual inspection for damage.

Tools

  • Hand Tools: Hammer, wrenches, saw, crow bar, etc.
  • Battery powered and pneumatic impact driver, screw gun, framing nailer, stapler, Sawzall etc.
  • Corded electric tools, Radial arm saw, circular saw.

Qualifications/Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic math skills. Understanding fractions and decimals with measuring devices.
  • Ability to work on your feet all day, moving continuously with bending and twisting maneuvers and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required
  • Forklift experience a plus, willingness to train to gain a forklift operators certification
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Also, it is frequently required to sit; use hands, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
