We help businesses and municipalities reduce and divert waste, lowering disposal costs and fueling local supply chains by ensuring materials are recovered, recycled, and reused.

About the Role:

Circular Services seeking a qualified facility Laborer/Operator to join our team at our state-of-the-art organic waste recycling campus in Southington, CT. We are seeking individuals who are hardworking, adaptable, and committed to contributing to renewable energy and organic waste recycling efforts.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6AM-4PM (Job Type: Full-time) | Location: Southington, CT 06489 | Pay Rate: $22.00-$28.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Operate small to midsize equipment such as pay loaders, skid steers, and manlifts in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate general site vehicles and equipment like water trucks, pick-up trucks, sweepers, mowers, and trimming equipment.
  • Prepare job sites by cleaning, removing hazards, greasing equipment, and assisting with routine maintenance.
  • Use basic hand tools (shovel, pitchfork, grease guns, garbage pickers, and handheld power tools).
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Collaborate with laborers, operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth operation and meet project goals.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, and adhere to company safety guidelines.
  • Perform yard/site work, including mowing, trash pickup, trimming, and garbage removal.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in facility maintenance.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating equipment.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, or landscaping preferred.
  • Basic awareness of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to remain composed and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure environments while accepting constructive feedback.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 65 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions (low/high temperatures, humidity, etc.).
  • Be comfortable working at elevated heights up to 30 feet.
