Vermilion's key brands include American Security Cabinets, American RX Group, American Logistics & Packaging Company, and Prophase Marketing.  

The American Security Cabinets division is a manufacturer of a large, diverse line of secure metal cabinetry for recycling purposes that enables the safe collection of a diverse range of items, including post-consumer materials. 
The Commercial Development Manager, Circular Takeback Solutions is part of the Comply business development/sales team for the Americas reporting to the Director Commercial Development, Circular Takeback Solutions. The role is instrumental in propelling growth in our Circular Takeback Solutions line of business in North America. This role requires an understanding of environmental and DEA regulations and their related compliance obligations along with operational circular takeback procedures. This role will be closely aligned with other Commercial Development Managers as well as the Operations team and the Customer Care team.
  • Identify and target potential clients who can benefit from Circular Takeback Solutions. Ensure the top of the sales funnel is full by performing market research to identify key industries and customers to target.
  • Research and generate qualified leads through various channels, including online research, cold calling, email campaigns, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with clients on pricing and contractual agreements, utilizing strong negotiation skills to close deals. 
  • Maintain an accurate and current pipeline of opportunities that are documented with all sales activity in the CRM tool.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations with potential clients to understand their Circular Takeback Solution needs and propose tailored solutions. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products and services and their applications to effectively communicate product features, benefits, and value propositions to clients. 
  • Meet and/or exceed the required level of prospecting activity, including emails, phone calls, and site visits.
  • Maintain contractual requirements, billing, and service delivery for a portfolio of client accounts to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate industry and regulatory fluency (e.g., DEA obligations and transportation and waste management regulations).
  • Align cross-functional teams across Sales, Operations, Compliance, Finance and others to synchronize client needs with company growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Business Review, annual budget, and long-term model.
  • Proactively identify areas for increased interaction and expanded services to develop tailored solutions and drive growth.
  • Collaborate with key Industry Associations and network within the DEA Consulting.
  • Ensure regular and appropriate communication with clients to address their needs and concerns and reinforce trust in the partnership.
  • Gather market intelligence on competition on a routine basis and update business strategy document with leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing stakeholders to ensure event-related activity and marketing strategy align with targeted business development objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability or a related engineering field, or equivalent job-related experience
  • 5+ years of progressive Sales and Business Development experience
  • 5+ years experience in the sustainability, environmental compliance sector or related business field is required. 
  • Experience in recycling, manufacturing, safety, reverse distribution, DEA, DOT, EPA, regulated medical waste, pharmaceutical waste, universal waste and/or logistics industries is preferred. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 5+ years experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to draft presentations and present to external clients 
  • Understanding of Circular Solutions, Regulated Medical Wate, Pharmaceutical Waste and DEA Regulations 5+ years experience
  • Experience with writing and understanding contracts
