Job description

Test Technician
We are looking for a Test Technician to join our Cincinnati, Ohio team at Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division, QualTech NP.
Test Technicians perform a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing for components and systems used in the nuclear power industry. As a highly regulated industry, our work requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures and industry standards.
As a Test Technician, you will play an important role in supporting project schedules and customer deliverables. You will be responsible for setting up and conducting tests, collecting and documenting test data, identifying test anomalies, and working closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to successfully complete projects.
Location: Cincinnati, OH (onsite)
Salary Information: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Your Challenge:
  • Utilize test procedures, drawings, specifications, and other written instructions to perform testing in accordance with established requirements
  • Select and properly use Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) appropriate for each test
  • Build and configure electrical and electro-mechanical test setups and circuits
  • Perform testing of a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems
  • Collect, record, and document test data accurately on applicable data sheets and test documentation
  • Evaluate test results to determine component or system operability and compliance with test requirements
  • Identify, document, and report failures, discrepancies, and test anomalies
  • Work closely with Engineering and Project Management in the development and improvement of test procedures
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve quality and testing issues.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, and sketches for test setups as required
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members to ensure requirements, expectations, and customer commitments are met
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction
  • Perform all work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable industry requirements

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training equivalent to an Associate's degree in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
  • 2-4 years of related electrical testing experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical principles and circuitry
  • Experience using electrical and pneumatic Measurement and Test Equipment
  • Ability to measure and evaluate voltage, current, capacitance, inductance, impedance, and resistance
  • Ability to apply basic electrical principles and mathematics to calculate and construct resistive loads
  • Experience testing electrical components and equipment such as switch panels, transformers, solenoids, relays, and related control equipment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop basic wiring diagrams and test setup sketches
  • Experience constructing test circuits for both AC and DC applications
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and computer applications, with the ability to perform electrical calculations, analyze and interpret test data, enter and maintain accurate records, and use spreadsheets and other software to support testing activities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities and project requirements
