Job description

Lead complex HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design projects from concept to completion. Oversee major equipment selection, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure technical excellence. Mentor junior staff and drive innovation while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze, and manage especially complex HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design for especially complex construction projects.
  • Assess, select, and requisition major equipment appropriate for complex construction projects.
  • Manage construction projects with internal and external parties (customers, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors, various CIMCO departments) to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Draft, design, and provide feedback on engineering documentation (construction drawings, design schematics, etc.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior designers.

Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in engineering, particularly in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (typically Mechanical).
  • P.E. designation required.
  • Expert knowledge of refrigeration design and standards.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design/standards is an asset.
  • Significant understanding of site construction.
  • High level of understanding of local building codes, CSA/UL, ASHRAE, ASME, IIAR, and design specifications.
  • High level of expertise with REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with limited to no supervision.
