Job description

Mary Wade is seeking a RN Designee  to provide  high quality patient care for all Assisted Living/Memory Care residents through the effective coordination of nursing services and other interdisciplinary services.

Schedule: Full-Time: 32 hours per week with shared on call responsibilities

Hourly Rate; $ 45.00 to $48.00 (commensurate with experience)

RN Designee  Responsibilities:

  • Assures that a service plan is established for each resident and that this plan is reviewed and modified as needed in accordance with state, federal and company regulations and guidelines.
  • Supervises Assisted Living Agency staff to ensure continual upgrade and improvement in the care of all residents.
  • Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance.
  • Interprets policies and objectives of ALSA service to staff.
  • Establishes and maintains a medication system which adheres to state, federal and company laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures strong coordination of care with any outside providers involved in the resident service plan.
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, in-services, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of resident care policies and brings resident care problems requiring changes in policy to the attention of the professional policy advisory groups.
  • Available to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs.
  • Effectively communicates to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of daily assignments of duties for nursing staff to assure 24 hour coverage.
  • Responsible for quality management program; monitors core measures; promotes team building, staff development and empowerment.
  • Responsible for on-call support.
  • Promotes quality resident service and amenities by incorporating the organization’s mission and standards of care
  • Establish policies that govern residents' right to quality of life and care as defined by the residents' comprehensive assessment and care plan.
  • Assures that all employees, customers, visitors and general public follow established policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the campus.
  • Ensure that public information describing the services provided in the campus is accurate and fully descriptive.

Qualifications: 

  • Assisted Living preferred but not required
  • Nurse with current CT RN license in good standing
  • Must possess strong nursing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Supervisor skills and prior experience a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • Prior DNS or ADNS experience is a plus
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Foster strong working relationships will all staff
  • Communicate clearly with resident, family and staff
