Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Clinical Review Outpatient Review RN for Grievances & Appeals.


Overview:
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to support a project reviewing inpatient and clinical appeals related to medical necessity and quality of care. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external review entities to ensure timely, compliant case resolution.

Active NY RN License required


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review inpatient and clinical appeals for medical necessity, quality of care, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal departments, including Claims, Medical Management, and the Medical Director.
  • Prepare and organize case documentation for external reviews, such as Fair Hearings and Independent Review Entities (IREs).
  • Ensure all cases adhere to established regulatory timelines and meet compliance standards.
  • Contribute to backlog resolution and process efficiency improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse NY State (RN) license (required).
  • Strong knowledge of CMS criteria, Medicaid guidelines, and managed care appeal processes.
  • Experience in utilization review, case management, or appeals review preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to regulatory detail and documentation standards.
