Job description

Job Requirements

Under general supervision, develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates the hospital-wide Infection Control and Employee Health Programs.


Work Experience

To qualify for the position, the candidate must have graduated from an accredited school of Nursing, Microbiology or Public Health. Bachelor's preferred Three to five years hospital or medical office in infection control experience required. Previous experience program planning and coordination preferred.ย CIC certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Licensed as a RN in the state of Maryland preferred.


  • Knowledge of asepsis, pathology-paraphysiology and epidemiology required.ย 
  • Knowledge of medical and psychosocial needs of neonates, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics required.ย 
  • Knowledge of hospital employee health programs required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop guidelines for program implementation
  • Ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and confidentiality of health system and departmental documents required
  • Knowledge of hospital Infection Control practices required.


Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Licensed as a RN in the state of Maryland preferred.
