Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Lead IC amp; Defense to support the Auria's Growth Organization. This role is a Remote position.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
Business Development and Market Growth
  • Lead business development activities across Intelligence Community and DoD customers, with emphasis on the NRO, NSA, CIA, DIA, DoD, and related space, communications, and mission operations organizations.
  • Identify, qualify, and shape new opportunities aligned to Auria’s hardware, software, and integrated mission solution capabilities.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans for priority customers, including customer call plans, opportunity roadmaps, partner strategies, and near-, mid-, and long-term pipeline objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior government customers, mission users, acquisition officials, technical stakeholders, prime contractors, and industry partners.
  • Create demand for Auria solutions by connecting customer mission needs with Auria capabilities in space systems, ground systems, communications, edge processing, C2, cyber, and mission software.
  • Support expansion into new accounts, new mission areas, and adjacent markets where Auria’s product and engineering capabilities can create differentiated value.
Hardware, Product, and Solution Portfolio Growth
  • Drive growth of Auria’s product and technology portfolio involving radios, software-defined radios, digital ground stations, SATCOM modems, software-defined modems, edge sensors, communications systems, mission applications, and C2 solutions.
  • Work closely with technical leadership, product teams, engineering, and business unit leaders to translate customer needs into product roadmap inputs, solution concepts, investment priorities, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Assess market demand and competitive positioning for Auria products and integrated solutions across IC and DoD mission environments.
  • Identify opportunities to transition prototypes, IRAD efforts, commercial technologies, and existing Auria capabilities into funded programs, pilots, demonstrations, and production opportunities.
  • Help define repeatable solution offerings that combine hardware, software, mission integration, and sustainment into scalable product-led growth paths.
Capture and Opportunity Leadership
  • Lead and support capture efforts for selected strategic opportunities from early identification through proposal submission, award, and transition to execution.
  • Develop capture strategies, win themes, competitive assessments, teaming approaches, customer engagement plans, and price-to-win inputs.
  • Shape opportunities early by influencing requirements, acquisition approaches, evaluation criteria, and customer understanding of Auria’s technical discriminators.
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions, gate reviews, black hats, solution reviews, proposal strategy sessions, and executive leadership briefings.
  • Work with proposal teams to ensure customer intelligence, win themes, solution differentiators, and competitive positioning are reflected in proposal volumes.
  • Support responses to RFIs, market surveys, white papers, technical exchanges, OTAs, CSOs, BAAs, IDIQ task orders, and traditional RFPs.
Customer and Industry Engagement
  • Represent Auria in meetings with government customers, mission partners, prime contractors, technology providers, and industry organizations.
  • Develop strategic partnerships that improve Auria’s ability to deliver integrated mission solutions involving communications, ground systems, edge processing, sensors, and C2.
  • Maintain awareness of IC and DoD budgets, acquisition timelines, mission priorities, procurement vehicles, technology gaps, and competitive dynamics.
  • Identify where Auria should lead as prime, where Auria should team as a strategic subcontractor, and where Auria should position its products through partner channels.
  • Provide regular market intelligence to Auria leadership on customer priorities, competitor activity, procurement trends, and emerging mission needs.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, capture, account management, program management, mission operations, acquisition, engineering, or related national security roles.
  • Demonstrated customer relationships and business development experience across the Intelligence Community and/or DoD, preferably including one or more of the following: NRO, NSA, CIA, DIA, USSF, SSC, SDA, Army, Air Force, or other national security space, cyber, or communications organizations.
  • Experience growing business involving hardware, product, or integrated technology solutions, not solely services-based contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, shape, and capture opportunities in complex federal markets.
  • Experience developing customer call plans, account strategies, opportunity pipelines, capture plans, teaming strategies, and executive pursuit recommendations.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition approaches including FAR-based procurements, OTAs, CSOs, BAAs, IDIQ task orders, and rapid prototyping pathways.
  • Strong verbal, written, and executive briefing skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while coordinating effectively across growth, engineering, product, program, proposal, contracts, and executive teams.

  • Experience selling or positioning product-based solutions into IC or DoD customers.
  • Experience with satellite communications, tactical communications, ground systems, resilient networks, edge compute, sensor integration, or mission C2 architectures.
  • Prior experience working with or for a defense technology company, national security space company, hardware provider, software-defined communications company, or intelligence mission integrator.
  • Experience helping transition technologies from prototype or demonstration into funded production or operational programs.
  • Experience supporting both prime and subcontractor growth strategies.
  • Understanding of product-led growth in government markets, including licensing, hardware sales, recurring software, sustainment, and mission integration models.
  • Experience with Shipley, Lohfeld, or other capture and proposal methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, national security, computer science, or related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education amp; experience - and the position level. $200,000 - $225,000
