What does a church video technician do?

A Church Video Technician is responsible for managing and operating the video equipment used during church services and events. This includes setting up cameras, projectors, and video switchers, as well as handling live streaming and recording of sermons or special events. They also edit video content for online sharing and ensure that all visuals run smoothly during services. Their work helps enhance the worship experience for both in-person and online congregations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a church video technician?

To thrive as a Church Video Technician, you need a solid understanding of video production, camera operation, and audiovisual technology, often supported by experience or coursework in media or communications. Familiarity with video switchers, streaming platforms, editing software (like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro), and live production systems is typically required. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and clear communication are essential soft skills for coordinating with worship leaders and volunteers.
