Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Private Event Coordinator [PEC] serves as the team lead for private events associated with the
Real Life Center [RLC] and River City Community Church [RCCC]. As PEC, this person is the primary
interface between the inquiring family and the RLC/RCCC Private Events Team. The PEC is responsible
for overseeing the organization & flow of the ENTIRE event, including the facilitation of
communication, room scheduling and planning process, from initial inquiry through planning and
follow-up, to include being present in-person for the duration of each event coordinated. This person
must be highly organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and possess strong written and oral
communication skills. Proficiency with technology and the ability to quickly learn new software is a
must. Being a team player and possessing a servant attitude with grace and tact are critical to the
success of this position.
Position Type: 1099 contract labor
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Membership at River City Community Church preferred
- Familiarity with working in a church or parachurch organization preferred
- Experience in the planning and execution of special events (ex: banquets, weddings etc.)
Spiritual Gifts & Skill Set
- A strong composition of many or all of the following spiritual gifts preferred: administration,
helps, hospitality, and service
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Must be able to follow policies and procedures but possess the ability to use discretion when
non-routine situations arise
- Must be able to handle conflict in a biblical manner with grace and tact (Matt. 18:15-17)
- Must be an innovative and intuitive thinker (Anticipate potential issues and find a solution)
- Comfortable giving direction to staff and lay leadership
- Willingness and ability to say "no" to potential good ideas/requests when necessary
- Ability to initiate, plan and manage meetings
- Appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
- Ability to focus on details, prioritize tasks and meet necessary deadlines
- Familiarity with project management software/applications preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other computer-based
technologies preferred
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 25 lbs.
Spiritual Development
- Demonstrates a stable, mature Christian walk, reflecting the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23)
- Willing to work under the direction and guidance of the Elders and Senior Staff of River City
Community Church
- Willing to participate in a criminal background check
