Position Overview
The Finance Associate/Bookkeeper supports the financial operations of Church Unlimited by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring strong stewardship of church resources.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and passionate about supporting ministry through operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Record and maintain financial transactions, including donations, tithes, and offerings
  • Track and reconcile bank accounts and financial statements
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and reimbursements
  • Maintain donor contribution records and prepare giving statements
  • Assist with budgeting processes and monitor spending against approved budgets
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for church leadership
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls
  • Support annual audits and financial reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
  • Authentic and growing relationship with Jesus
  • Strong alignment with Church Unlimited's mission and culture
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks) and spreadsheets
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Coursework in accounting or finance preferred
  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with nonprofit or church accounting is a plus
  • Positive, flexible, and teachable attitude
  • Must be a current, active member of Church Unlimited
