WHAT YOU WILL DO:
WEEKEND WORSHIP SERVICES
- Programming the SSM service and preparing the message.
- Creating a warm, inviting environment for Jr High and High School students, including connection time, worship time, avenues for guests to attend, and next steps for students to take in their spiritual journey towards maturity.
- Equipping the weekend leader team (students & adults) to execute the weekend experience.
SMALL GROUPS
- Ensure the SSM Small Groups are offered during the school year. This includes program preparation, student development, and working with host homes.
- Pastoral care and family support as needed.
- Creating discipleship tools for parents connected to the Life Group content.
- Equipping small group leaders and gender specific adult leaders to help, encourage and develop students in their faith.
VOLUNTEERS
- Recruit and onboard all new volunteers.
- Facilitate training and fellowship for volunteers
- Care and shepherd leaders
- Scheduling SSM leaders
EVENTS
- Creating and executing a strategic SSM event calendar containing a minimum of 8 events a year (in addition to centrally run Summer Camps and Retreats) with the focus of connection for current students and outreach opportunity for un-churched friends.
- Schedule student baptisms
- Parent Events
COMMUNICATION
- Monthly Parent emails
- Weekly leader emails
- Promotional materials for the ministry
- Remain in communication with the campus team and SSM central team.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Manage SSM budget
- Data entry in Rock our church database (baptism, Salvation, attendance, etc.)
- Manage ministries in Rock our church database
MEETINGS/MISC
- Weekly campus staff meetings. Monthly SSM meetings. Monthly all staff meetings.
- Help with additional campus responsibilities
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE:
EXPERIENCE
Current or past Student ministries experience
EDUCATION
- College or equivalent ministry experience preferred
- Seminary is ideal
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Passionate follower of Jesus
- Values collaboration
- Team player
- Passionate about working with students, volunteers, and parents
- Able to lead, direct, coordinate, organize and follow through
- Able to multitask and handle shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Google Suite
DECISION MAKING
This position has a full range of decision making for this ministry as long as the decisions are based within the Saddleback guidelines for student ministry.

Saddleback Church's pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $27-$30 hourly, depending on experience. We will provide a pay rate within our salary structure that fits a candidate's qualifications and experience for the job. The posted wage range does not guarantee a specific job offer.
