Job description

Position Summary

We are hiring a part-time office administrator with excellent communication and organization skills with a starting date mid-August to early September 2026. The office administrator collaborates in a team with our pastor, the minister of music, and the sexton, and helps fulfill the church’s mission to serve its members and the wider community.

The office administrator is the focal point of communication in our congregation, providing administrative and operational support to ensure successful church ministries and activities. In collaboration with the pastor and the minister of music, the office administrator manages the church calendar and curates newsletters as well as other communications to the congregation, gathering information about events, board meetings, and committees. Additionally, the office administrator serves as the central point of contact for visitors, vendors, and church members. This position is supervised by the pastor in collaboration with the church board.

Key Responsibilities

Office Administration

  • Receive and distribute mail, phone calls, and emails
  • Manage the church calendar
  • Maintain office inventory
  • Maintain member database
  • Manage software licenses and subscriptions (Office 365, Google Workspace, Canva, etc.)

Communication & Coordination

  • Creation and dissemination of announcements in weekly bulletins, newsletters, annual reports, and other forms of communication, church mail, etc.
  • Prepare worship bulletins, including weekly bulletins, special services (funerals, weddings)
  • Solicit content from church leaders (annual reports; announcements)
  • Serve as first point of contact for church and community members
  • Compile and format annual reports, including from committees and chairpersons
  • Help manage the church website and social media

Facilities

  • Manage building rentals for weddings, funerals, special events, regular meetings
  • Schedule events and collect payments if necessary

Employment Details:

Job Type: Salaried (part-time); approx. 15 hrs per week.

Compensation: $13,500 - $15,600, commensurate with experience.

Successful candidate sets their schedule in consultation with the pastor.

Start date: mid-August to Early September 2026

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (some college preferred)
  • Proficiency with basic computer software (Office 365 incl. Word & Excel; OneDrive)
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail and Google Drive)
  • Familiarity with Canva or any design platform is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Friendly demeanor; welcoming attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
