Job description

Position Overview

Ladgov Corporation is seeking one qualified Religious Ministries Musical Director (RMMD) to lead and accompany Roman Catholic and Protestant worship services at the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Chapel. The contractor will coordinate both music programs and support weekly rehearsals and special services.


Contract Term: One base year with four possible option years

Schedule

  • One Catholic service per week—approximately 52 per year

  • One Protestant service per week—approximately 52 per year

  • One combined rehearsal per week—approximately 52 per year

  • Up to eight Catholic special Masses per year

  • Up to three Protestant special services per year

  • Each session is estimated to last approximately one hour

  • Exact days and times will follow the chapel’s Service Performance Calendar

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Catholic and Protestant music programs.

  • Accompany services and rehearsals on keyboard, piano, organ, or guitar.

  • Select music with the Catholic priest, Protestant chaplain, and worship leaders.

  • Lead and accompany choirs, singers, and congregations.

  • Attend each assigned service for its full duration.

  • Submit weekly music selections by 12:00 noon each Wednesday.

  • Organize chapel music, files, supplies, and related materials.

  • Recommend music and equipment and report maintenance needs.

  • Maintain professional appearance, communication, and attendance.

  • Provide a qualified substitute at the contractor’s expense when unavailable.

  • Give two weeks’ notice for planned absences and two to three hours’ notice for emergencies.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Proficiency on a keyboard-type instrument or guitar.

  • Ability to support both Catholic and Protestant worship.

  • Knowledge of church music, traditions, and seasonal observances.

  • Ability to lead choirs, singers, and congregations.

  • Must be a professing Christian in good standing with a pastoral reference.

  • Must provide up to three professional or past-performance references.

  • Five years of relevant church-music experience is preferred.

  • Must be prepared for a five- to ten-minute audition and possible interview.

  • Must pass background screening and qualify for MCAS Yuma access.

  • Must provide personal transportation and follow all installation requirements.
