Missionary Discipleship Consultant
Office of Faith Formation - Diocese of Providence
Reports to: Director of Faith Formation
Full-Time Position
The Diocese of Providence is seeking a Missionary Discipleship Consultant to support parishes in their mission of evangelization and faith formation. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Faith Formation and parish leaders to develop training opportunities, provide resources, and help strengthen parishes as centers of missionary discipleship.
Responsibilities include:
  • Support parish catechetical leaders through training, resources, and ongoing communication.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops focused on evangelization, discipleship, and faith formation.
  • Coordinate college campus evangelization outreach.
  • Support Catholic theology and leadership certificate programs.
  • Assist with onboarding and formation of parish catechetical leaders.
  • Coordinate Safe Environment training and record keeping.
  • Assist with diocesan events, leadership development initiatives, and other parish support efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the mission of the Church.
  • Bachelor's degree in theology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in parish, diocesan, school, apostolate, or similar ministry setting.
  • Knowledge of Catholic teaching, evangelization, and the Church's mission of forming disciples.
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, parish leaders, and ministry teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and digital communication tools.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Diocese and work occasional evenings and weekends.
