Nature & Purpose of Position
Works with the Department of English Office providing support to office staff, faculty, and students.
As Student Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Managing the office front desk, answering phones/emails, and providing general University information to department visitors
General clerical work such as filing, inventory checks, supply management, and data input will be required.
The ability to use office machines: computer, copier, scanner, fax and binding machines will be required.
Student must possess ability to use Microsoft Office suite and use the Outlook Calendar.
This position requires customer service and reception area management.
Must be a self-starter, responsible, reliable, punctual, and able to maintain workplace confidentiality.
Must be able to work during the work week (Monday - Friday) and during the summer.
Other Requirements for the Position
Organized, ability to type, use office machines, have experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Keep an organized and professional work environment.
Student should be a self-starter, able to follow instructions, and takes pride in their work.
Ability to alphabetize and maintain electronic databases and physical files.
Must be a team player and build good working relationships with staff, coworkers, and superiors, along with guests in the office.
Be willing to learn and adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
Must have your own transportation to and from work.
