Job description

Tosoh Bioscience LLC is a major supplier of chromatography products to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries. Our product line includes:TSKgel, TOYOPEARL, and Ca++Pure-HA bulk media, TSKgel U/HPLC columns, process development products, dedicated systems for GPC analysis, and the LenS3 MALS detector. We have optimal solutions for biological research, drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, agriculture, manufacturing, or other industrial applications.

Summary

The Inside Sales Representative will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders and developing accounts for the company's product lines. This involves the identification of new sales accounts and opportunities as well as maintaining and developing current accounts. The Inside Sales Representative will also work with the Account Managers and participate in sales improvement initiatives.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the National Sales Manager - Americas. This position has no direct reports.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

New Account Identification

  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport with industry contacts, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations.

  • Identify and engage with new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and e-mail inquiries and verifying and entering information.

  • Utilize customer relationship management software and other resources to identify new accounts, create new contact information, manage new business sales opportunities and map the account.

  • Request quotes via customer service department.

  • Meet assigned job metrics.

Current Account Development

  • Develop accounts by checking customer's buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features.

  • Conduct ongoing customer needs analysis, research of customer requirements.

  • Conduct regular customer review calls as per customer review procedure and follow up as necessary.

  • Conduct post-sale follow up to measure product satisfaction.

  • Maintain contact history in database.

  • Maintain database fidelity

Sales Support & Improvement

  • Complete and maintain accurate sales forecasts, data gathering, and reports as requested by Manager.

  • Responsible for sales improvement initiatives and other assigned action items.

  • Work with Account Managers on an as needed basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Uphold and adhere to the Tosoh Bioscience culture and guiding principles.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of scientific laboratory experience, with a strong interest in applying technical knowledge in an inside sales environment.

  • A practical understanding of chromatography and the biopharmaceutical industry.

  • Working knowledge of contact management, internet, email, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

  • Strong understanding of the basic concepts involved in a sales process.

  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined to execute the major duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Poses the ability to identify, establish, and maintain strong relationships with potential customers including scientists, senior management, and purchasing groups.

  • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.
