Christopher Newport University's College of Natural and Behavioral
Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty
members to teach individual courses, as needed, in Fall 2026, and
beyond.
Potential courses include, but not limited to:
Sports Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Introduction to Counseling
Departmental Information
The Department of Psychology at Christopher Newport University
includes 19 members who are dedicated teachers/scholars and
actively engaged in research and advising/mentoring students, while
working in a collegial atmosphere. The Department seeks to recruit
and retain a diverse community of scholars. The successful
applicant will join a team of faculty that integrates high quality
teaching and significant research involving undergraduates. The
Department has 577 students (480 majors and 97 minors),
constituting approximately 14% of all students atCNU. The
Department is housed in the College of Natural and Behavioral
Sciences in the 21st century Mary Brock Forbes integrated science
center with state-of-the-art teaching and research spaces. The
Department supports and works collaboratively with the
Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program and the Master of Arts in
Teaching program. In 2024, US News and World Reports ranked
CNU's Psychology program among the "Best Undergraduate
Psychology Programs" in the nation. Candidates wishing to know
