About American Kids Sports Center
Founded in 1984 as American Academy of Gymnastics, American Kids Sports Center (AKSC) has grown into one of California's most unique and successful kids sports center. Under the direction of owners Mike & Sheri Williams, AKSC has established an organization that sees its purpose as helping children to learn strong VALUES with which they will set worthy GOALS and for which we must train them in the SKILLS needed to achieve those goals. Sport training is the tool we use to achieve that purpose.
About the role
  • We are looking to hire a passionate dance instructor to join our dance studio. You will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students in a range of techniques and dance styles, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals. If you are passionate about dance and enjoy working with kids, we encourage you to apply!

What you'll do
  • Be on time for your classes
  • Take attendance for every class
  • Drop and pick up shifts on Subitup
  • Come prepared with lesson plans for each class
  • Choreograph dances for your classes for our Christmas show and June show
  • Make sure you have & are constantly following the syllabi
  • Meet parents and keep in constant communication with them about how their child is doing, and upcoming events
  • Read over all material that will be handed out to students to familiarize yourself with it
  • Be able to answer any questions about our program or recitals
  • Promote the ADW dance department and other programs at AKSC
  • Be a team player & sub classes when able
  • Make the effort to improve yourself and your dance education & training
  • Complete projects assigned to you & meet deadlines give (ex. Finding backstage moms)
  • Complete skill tracking for each student
  • Request time off at least 2 weeks in advance and find subs (If a sub cannot be found you will not be granted the time off)

Qualifications
  • Have previous dance training in any of the following subjects: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical or Contemporary
  • Be willing to travel to both locations (NW & SW facility)
  • Be able to demonstrate basic skills for the age level & discipline you are teaching

The pay range for this role is:
16.50 - 25 USD per hour (American Kids Sports Center: NW)
