What is a Christian software engineer remote?

Christian Software Engineers working remotely are professionals who design, develop, and maintain software solutions while aligning their work and values with Christian principles. They may work for organizations that serve Christian communities, develop faith-based apps, or simply integrate their faith into their professional life regardless of the employer. Remote positions allow them to work from any location, offering flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded teams or serve faith-driven missions globally.

How do Christian software engineers working remotely typically collaborate with faith-based organizations and distributed teams?

Christian Software Engineers in remote roles often work with both technical teams and stakeholders from faith-based organizations. Collaboration is typically facilitated through regular video meetings, shared project management tools, and clear documentation to ensure alignment with organizational missions and technical goals. Many faith-based organizations value open communication and a strong sense of community, so engineers are encouraged to participate in virtual team devotions or prayer meetings, in addition to standard agile ceremonies. This structure helps maintain a supportive environment and ensures that both technical and spiritual objectives are met.

To thrive as a Christian Software Engineer working remotely, you need strong programming skills (such as in Python, Java, or JavaScript), a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and a commitment to ethical development aligned with Christian values. Familiarity with cloud platforms, version control systems like Git, and common development frameworks is important, along with any industry-standard certifications. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and the ability to collaborate effectively in virtual teams help you stand out in this role. Forward Deployed Engineer (Remote)

Maybern Solutions, Inc

Job description

Who We Are
Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology: an operating system with deterministic guard rails underneath, agents on top. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.
Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for more modern, fully agentic solutions to help private fund CFOs is crucial.
This is where Maybern comes in.
We are equipping fund managers with a fully agentic operating system for private fund management, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.
Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.
What We're Looking For
Maybern is building the operating system for agentic fund management, and Forward Deployed Engineering is where that meets the real world. Our FDE team partners directly with some of the largest private funds on the planet to build high-value systems that extend the Maybern platform: production AI, decision support, forecasting, optimization, scenario analysis, formalized workflow logic, and high-assurance automation. This is not a lab. Engagements are signed and running today, and the systems you build will go into production at firms managing tens of billions of dollars.
We are looking for engineers who can own real customer problems and grow fast doing it. You should be comfortable operating where customer ambiguity, quantitative modeling, AI reliability, workflow design, and product abstraction all meet. The career ladder is defined (FDE to Senior FDE to Principal), promotion follows performance rather than tenure, and compensation is built for outperformance: competitive base, equity, and a tiered performance bonus where top performers can earn up to 35%.
What You'll Do
  • Own forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption, with your scope growing as fast as your independence earns it
  • Architect and build custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows
  • Design application patterns that connect Maybern's platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes
  • Build the evaluation, control, and validation frameworks that make AI trustworthy when a client's business depends on the output
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders at sophisticated private markets firms as a trusted technical advisor
  • Turn messy, real-world data into production systems: extraction, agentic workflows, automation, and the QA and nuance that separate working systems from demos
  • Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure
  • Help define standards, technical direction, and operating practices for a function you're joining at the ground floor

Who You Are
  • Architect. You design application patterns that connect platform, customer logic, and data, picking the right level of rigor for the stakes.
  • Customer Partner. You serve as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders and translate rigor without losing precision.
  • Production-AI Builder. You think past the happy path. You care how a system behaves when the data is messy, how errors get caught, and how AI holds up when someone else's business runs on it.
  • Driven by Outcomes. You are competitive, high-ownership, and motivated by impact and upside. You think in terms of the ROI of your work, not just the deliverable.
  • High-Standards Builder. You hold a high bar for clarity and reliability in domains where approximation isn't enough.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You Have...
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, applied research, or forward-deployed technical work with significant ownership
  • A record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives, or clear evidence you're ready to
  • Deep strength in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture
  • Applied AI experience with real attention to evaluation, reliability, and production deployment, meaning AI systems other people depend on, not one-off prototypes
  • Deep quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong taste in balancing speed, rigor, and trust in high-stakes environments

Bonus Points if You Have...
  • Familiarity with the Snowflake AI Data Platform as a strong starting point for architecting data, analytics, and AI workflows, though this is not required
  • Experience designing custom applications in finance, capital markets, enterprise decision systems, or similarly complex domains
  • Experience with optimization, probabilistic systems, simulation engines, or mathematical modeling platforms
  • Experience with formal verification, theorem proving, formal methods, or machine-checkable logic
  • Experience turning bespoke customer systems into reusable product or platform primitives
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on technical execution
  • Private markets experience
Benefits
  • We offer a competitive salary + equity package, comprehensive benefits, and a flexible family-friendly work environment. Some of our perks include:
    • Comprehensive healthcare benefits
      • Maybern covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums
      • HSA & FSA plans
    • Family-Friendly policies
      • Paid parental leave
    • Flexible schedule
      • Flexible PTO / sick leave
      • WFH as needed to fit your needs
    • 401k
