Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Business Data Analytics

Department: Department of Management, Marketing, and Business

Position Summary:

Houston Christian University seeks candidates in Business Data Analytics for the Archie W. Dunham College of Business. Candidates must be available to begin work on campus in Houston in August 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Job Responsibilities:

HCU’s primary mission is teaching. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The College offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (multiple majors), Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Professional Master of Business Administration (including a Business Data Analytics track), Master of Science in Human Resource Management with People Analytics, Master of Science in Leadership, and Master of International Business.

The College has a strong and growing data analytics program including an undergraduate certificate, undergraduate minor, and a track in the PMBA program. The business curriculum includes courses in business data analytics, business statistics, business analytical modeling, spreadsheet modeling, operations management, and management information systems. The successful candidate will be a strong and active academic contributor for the scope of analytical, MIS, and quantitative curriculum design, development, and maintenance.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to teaching, scholarly research and publication activities, advising, recruitment and retention activities, committee service, professional outreach activities, ACBSP accreditation support, and active engagement in the campus community.

The successful candidate will fulfill teaching responsibilities at both undergraduate and graduate levels within the full range of business data analytics curriculum and may also include teaching responsibilities across the College’s disciplines, depending on qualifications. The teaching load for the DCOB is seven (7) courses per academic year (Fall & Spring), and the primary modality of teaching is face-to-face. The selected candidate will also perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide excellent teaching to undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of delivery formats;
  • Actively integrate the Christian faith in teaching;
  • Actively engage in scholarly work in their related discipline; and,
  • Engage in various service activities to the College, University, and community.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an earned PhD or DBA from an AACSB- or ACBSP-accredited university in Business Data Analytics, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Information Systems, Statistics, or a closely related business discipline. Experience in data visualization applications, the R statistical software environment, and programming languages such as Python is preferred. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with ACBSP accreditation. Professional and corporate experience within the candidate’s discipline or in a related field will be an advantage.
