Pastor of Student Ministry

Eagan Hills Church is a Spirit-led community that seeks to glorify God by humbly following Jesus and making more disciples. Student Ministry serves students grades 6-12 by creating a welcoming community where they experience belonging, hear the Gospel, grow in their faith, and are equipped to follow Jesus in every area of life. The ministry currently averages approximately 50 students on Wednesday evenings and is committed to building authentic relationships, Biblical-discipleship, and meaningful partnerships with families.

The ministry is in a season of rebuilding and presents an exciting opportunity for a relational leader to strengthen volunteer teams, invest in students and families, and help shape the next chapter of student ministry at Eagan Hills. The Pastor of Student Ministries is a full-time pastoral position that provides vision, leadership, and oversight for this ministry.

Summary

The Pastor of Student Ministries provides vision, leadership, and pastoral oversight for ministry to students in grades 6-12. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, equipping, and shepherding a team of volunteer leaders who disciple students through authentic relationships, Biblical teaching, and a Christlike example. Working alongside these leaders, the Pastor of Student Ministries cultivates a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered community where students experience belonging, hear the Gospel, grow in their faith, and are equipped to become lifelong disciples of Jesus.

Responsible To
  • Reports to the Lead Pastor and follows the organizational structure.
Essential Job Functions

Leadership & Programming

  • Provide leadership for all Student Ministry programs (6th - 12th Grade), including weekly youth group, weekly small groups, retreats, mission trips, and other related events and ongoing ministries.
  • Design and develop activities with students that cultivate a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where youth can grow in relationship with others and with Jesus.
  • Select or prepare curriculum for High School & Middle School including a scope and sequence to develop mature student disciples.
  • Prepare for scheduled meetings that include devotions, worship, interactive discussions, and outreach activities.
  • Encourage youth participation in service, serving opportunities, and mission projects.
  • Preach and teach as assigned in rotation for Sunday services.

Volunteer & Family Engagement

  • Recruit, train, equip, schedule and support a team of volunteer leaders to shepherd students and families.
  • Connect with and support parents through effective communication and meaningful participation.
  • Build a true team culture with volunteers to ensure volunteer retention and connection.
  • Pray for youth and their families, and support them through highs and lows, even family crises as they may arise.
  • Promote, model, and uphold standards for healthy ministry practice including physical safety, child safety, integrity, transparency, and Christ-like character.

Administration & Operations

  • Maintain accurate records of youth group members, track attendance, and keep family information current.
  • Maintain Student Ministry spaces in good order.
  • Work in developing and maintaining the annual budget for Student Ministry.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled 1:1’s with supervisor.
  • Ensure policies are understood and followed by staff, volunteers, and students.
  • Additional ministry-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong and growing Christian testimony with a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Proven experience in Student Ministries or a related ministry leadership role.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, equip, and lead volunteer ministry teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and proclaim Biblical truth in a way that engages students and encourages spiritual growth.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Spirit of perseverance, creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use additional software. Experience with church management software, Planning Center, is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry, Biblical studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Agreement with Scripture, Eagan Hills Church Statement of Faith and Bylaws, and C&MA doctrine.
  • Is willing and eligible for membership at Eagan Hills Church.
  • Credentialed by the Christian & Missionary Alliance, or willing and eligible to pursue C&MA licensing and/or ordination.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $47,000-64,000 annually.
  • Health Care stipend: $6,000 annually
