HIRING FOR FIRST GRADE AND KINDERGARTEN

Highway Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, faith-filled Elementary Teacher (K–6) to join our growing Christian school community. Our purpose is to provide a solid academic education from a Christian perspective, designed to minister to families through Biblical principles . The classroom teacher supports and advances the mission of Highway Christian Academy by directing the educational, social, and emotional environment of their class, fostering the intellectual and social development of children in grades K–6. Responsibilities include creating and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum guidelines, utilizing differentiated instruction and formative assessments, maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment, engaging parents as partners in student learning, and integrating a Biblical Christian worldview into daily instruction .

All candidates must be Christians who are active members of a local church, committed to advocating for the Gospel, and able to provide a pastoral reference.

Requirements — Elementary Teacher (K–6)

  • Committed Christian who is an active member of a local church
  • Pastoral reference required confirming church membership and faith commitment
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent relevant experience
  • Commitment to integrating a Biblical Christian worldview into daily educational programming
  • Ability to create and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum guidelines and benchmarks
  • Proficiency in differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and a variety of instructional techniques
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a safe, positive learning environment
  • Ability to communicate professionally and confidentially with students, parents, and staff
  • Models professional, moral, and ethical standards in all interactions
  • Willingness to participate in staff meetings, school committees, and extracurricular activities
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development
  • Must pass a background check
  • Ability to supervise classroom assistants and volunteers
