Job description

Bethany Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and faith-centered 3rd Grade Christian School Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is committed to academic excellence, strong classroom structure, biblical values, and the overall development of each student.

The 3rd Grade Teacher will be responsible for leading a self-contained elementary classroom and providing instruction in core subject areas, including Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Bible. The teacher must be able to create a classroom environment that is organized, nurturing, disciplined, engaging, and Christ-centered.

This position requires a teacher who can manage a classroom effectively, build strong relationships with students, communicate professionally with parents, and work collaboratively with school leadership and staff. The ideal candidate understands that teaching is both instructional and relational. Students should be challenged academically while also being supported spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

At Bethany Christian Academy, we believe that students should grow in knowledge, character, discipline, responsibility, and faith. The teacher selected for this role must be able to help students develop strong academic foundations while modeling Christian character and reinforcing the school’s mission, expectations, and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use the school-approved curriculum and instructional resources with consistency and professionalism.
  • Provide clear explanations, guided practice, independent practice, and review to help students master grade-level standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students who are below grade level, on grade level, and above grade level.
  • Use student data, classwork, assessments, and observations to guide instruction and provide academic support.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
  • Maintain accurate grades, attendance records, lesson plans, behavior documentation, and required classroom records.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress, behavior, academic concerns, and classroom updates.
  • Establish clear classroom routines, procedures, expectations, and consequences.
  • Maintain strong classroom management while creating an environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged.
  • Integrate biblical principles, Christian values, prayer, Scripture, and character development into the classroom environment.
  • Help students develop responsibility, respect, discipline, integrity, kindness, and a strong work ethic.
  • Prepare students for school assessments, academic benchmarks, MAP Growth testing, classroom assessments, and other required evaluations.
  • Use academic tools and platforms such as IXL, MAP Growth, NWEA resources, and other school-approved programs when assigned.
  • Support school-wide academic goals, behavior expectations, chapel experiences, special events, field trips, and student activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, teacher trainings, parent meetings, and school events as required.
  • Work collaboratively with administration, lead teachers, support staff, and other faculty members.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, safety expectations, and professional standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, staff, and school matters.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in communication, appearance, punctuality, preparation, and conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to build healthy relationships with students while maintaining authority and structure.
