Description:

The Kids Ministry Assistant provides organized, behind-the-scenes support to the Kids Pastor and ministry team by coordinating programming details and meeting practical ministry needs so everything runs smoothly.


Pastoral Support

  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and events for the pastors.
  • Remind the pastors of upcoming commitments and deadlines.
  • Assist the pastors in managing their daily schedule and prioritizing tasks.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings for the pastors.
  • Take minutes during meetings and distribute them as necessary.
  • Conduct research and gather information as requested
  • Assist in the preparation of documents, communication, or other materials.

Team Support and Coordination

  • Execute administrative/office needs and reports for the Kids Team
  • Attend team meetings, take notes, and do follow-ups, as requested or needed
  • Coordinate details for events hosted by team, including advertisement, room reservations, registrations, materials and communication with teachers/facilitators
  • Create or coordinate details for communication requests for materials for advertisement and informational purposes for programs, services and content under the Kids Team
  • Provide support for Kids programming needs and set up on Thursday and Sunday services (check-in stations, weekly notes and questions for Difference Makers)

Other Duties

  • Adhere to all church policies and procedures as well as ensure that volunteers comply with guidelines for ministry
  • Assist in preparing for VBS and Windshape
  • Prepare needed reports and correspondence, including monthly newsletters
  • Prepare purchase orders and check requests as needed
  • Work assigned duties during “All Hands On Deck” events such as Christmas and Easter services
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Active Difference Maker at Pantano Christian Church
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work productively without direct supervision
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with team members, volunteers, and other staff
  • Excellent office-related computer skills, including experience with common office software/programs and online applications
  • Proficiency in online communication, email and calendar tools
  • Experience with Mac and macOS a plus
  • Experience with Google Drive a plus
  • Experience with database software a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel a plus
