The Regent University Library is seeking to fill a full-time, professional librarian position with faculty rank, assigned to the Department of Research and Instruction and to the University Archives. The person in this position will provide support for Research and Instruction and is also tasked to create a new historical collection honoring the university founder, Dr. Pat Robertson. This position reports to the Dean of the University Library.
Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Essential Functions:
  • Provide research assistance in person and virtually for designated hours
  • Implement appropriate courses and training tools for library instruction
  • Provide collection development for areas assigned
  • Develop, organize, and manage the Robertson Archives
  • Work with the Chancellor to collect and document the Robertson materials

Additional responsibilities include participating in librarian professional development activities and library meetings, and serving on designated Regent University committees.
Qualifications:
  • Education: This position requires a Master's degree from an ALA accredited institution. Second master's degree preferred
  • Prerequisites for the job: 3-5 years prior experience working in an Academic Library setting providing instruction and research assistance. Knowledge of emerging educational models and methods desirable
  • Personal Characteristics: Must demonstrate excellent teaching ability, good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
