RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the direct supervision and organization of campers within activities and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes.
  • Assure campers are properly supervised at all times.
  • Be responsible for leading and assisting with the teaching of activities.
  • Enthusiastically participate in all program areas as assigned.
  • Communicate and work with Spartan Summer Camp staff members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • The successful candidate will possess relevant experience; experience in a Before/After School program and/or Summer Camp program for grades K-3 and higher is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & CAPABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, patient, and nurturing spirit with passion and skill to actively and positively engage students.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work standing/walking throughout assigned shift with some rest periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and/or squat to interact with children.
  • Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to write using English in a legible form.
  • Must be able to traverse between facilities on campus.
