Job Title: Part-time Christian Counselor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Band: Band 4 or 5
Pay Range: $50 - $75 depending on experience after training period
Department: Redeemer Counseling Services
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Work Schedule and Hours: Minimum of 10 clinical hours & maximum of 25/week; 30% peak hours required
Position Summary
Counseling - provide counseling sessions for individual, couple, family, and group counseling. The
position requires strong understanding and application of Gospel-Centered Integrative Framework for Therapy (GIFT).
Essential Functions
Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Minimum of 450 sessions annually (10 sessions/44 weeks) with 30% peak hour sessions per week
  • Accurate and timely documentation of sessions
  • Compliance to best practices of the profession:Adhere to the code of ethics
  1. Adhere to the code of ethics
  2. Return calls of clients within 24 hours
  3. Schedule/cancel appointments in a timely manner
  4. Consult/Collaborate with other providers such as therapists and doctors for client care
  • Staff Meetings:
  1. Attend individual/group supervision
  2. Attend annual mandatory meeting
  • Expectations:
  1. This role is expected to pursue training and additional supervision to fully understand/apply and enhance GIFT
  2. Demonstrate core values of RCS and care for staff as well as RCS as a ministry

  • Specialization in one clinical issue or modality (band 4&5)

Required Qualifications
  • NYS license or equivalent clinical hours or holds limited permit
  • At least a master degree in counseling or related field
  • At least two years of clinical experience

• Strong retention and client evaluations
• Good understanding of ethical standards given our unique setting
  • Demonstrates strong capacity/desire to integrate theology and psychology
  • Theological alliance and compliance with Redeemer Presbyterian Church
  • Active participating member of a Christian church
  • Flexible and adaptable; open to feedback with positive and humble attitude

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
