KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ASSISTANT:
The Grace Beginnings Academy Aftercare Assistant Teacher is passionate about guiding and caring for 6 weeksโ€“5-year-olds in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate works collaboratively with the aftercare staff, and helps support each childโ€™s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. This role assists in caring for and implementing activities following the school day. This is a school year (September-May), part-time position with a preferred schedule of 3:00-5:45p. There are three age groups available, Infants (6 weeks-15 months), Toddlers/JP (16 months โ€“ 2 years), or Preschool/PreK (3-5 years).
  • Assist in implementing the aftercare schedule, including free play, outside time, activities and care for each child.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the other aftercare staff.ย 
  • Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.ย 
  • Maintains licensing compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Grace Beginnings Academy Aftercare Teacher is passionate about guiding and caring for 16 months-2 year-olds in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate partners with parents, classroom teachers, and supports each childโ€™s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. The aftercare lead teacher plans and implements structured free play and activities while children wait to be picked up by parents. This is a part-time, year-round position with an 3:00-5:45p schedule.
  • Create a Christ-centered learning environment for children ages 16 months-2 years.
  • Provide structure, free play and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Toddler + Junior Preschool Teachers in planning activities and relaying communication to parents at pick-up. ย 
  • Daily communicate with families on the success, challenges and activities of the day.
  • Follow the directives of the Infant Toddler Director to maintain high standards in the classroom and provide a quality experience for the children.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom and assume the responsibility to complete the duties required to maintain an orderly facility.
  • Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience.
  • Attend all required training and staff meetings throughout the year.ย 
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for teaching children from 16 months-2 years of age.ย 
  • Maintains licensing compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
